Youth Beginner Tennis Lessons
This program is designed to introduce young children to the sport of tennis and provide them with a fun and engaging experience. The goal of this program is to teach participants the basic fundamentals of tennis and provide them with a love for the game. Activities and drills will focus on developing hand-eye coordination, footwork and racquet skills. This is an opportunity for children to learn new skills, make friends, and develop a love for the game that can last a lifetime.
About the Instructors:
Matt Wayton is a state-certified coach and currently serving as the assistant coach for the Southington High School boys tennis team. Matt has coached as the interim head coach and assistant coach for the past 2 season with the Bristol Central girls teams that qualified for the CIAC tournament in both seasons. Matt has also founded and has been the tournament director for the Wayton Open Tennis Tournament for the past 16 years, with all proceeds benefiting rescue dogs. Matt has also been a private coach giving hundreds of training sessions to all ages and skills levels.
