Program Description:
This program is a fun and immersing experience focusing on developing skills, technique, and overall enjoyment of tennis. Our coaches will work with participants on serving, ground strokes, strategy, volleying, and footwork. Participants will have opportunities for friendly competition in the form of singles and doubles matches or team games. This program is a fun and rewarding experience for young players who are serious about improving their skills and love for the game of tennis. 

About the Instructors:
Matt Wayton is a state-certified coach and currently serving as the assistant coach for the Southington High School boys tennis team. Matt has coached as the interim head coach and assistant coach for the past 2 season with the Bristol Central girls teams that qualified for the CIAC tournament in both seasons. Matt has also founded and has been the tournament director for the Wayton Open Tennis Tournament for the past 16 years, with all proceeds benefiting rescue dogs. Matt has also been a private coach giving hundreds of training sessions to all ages and skills levels.

Alexa Rinaldi is a senior at Bristol Central and has been the caption of the Bristol Central Girls tennis team for the past 2 seasons. She has been a starting varsity athlete since her sophomore year. Alexa teamed up with her twin sister for the past 3 seasons at the #1 doubles spot and made All-Conference and The Bristol Press Team her sophomore year. She was a part of a Bristol Central class that qualified for post-season play the last 2 seasons. Alexa is an active tennis player and competes throughout the summer in events. Alexa is hoping to continue her playing career at the club level in college.  

Elyssa Tomczyk played competitively for the Women's tennis Team at Division II school Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Elyssa currently coaches part-time for the Plainville Tennis Club, where she instructs young and inspiring tennis players aged 8-17.
