Program Description:
Participants will be introduced to the game of football while utilizing flags. Players will work on basic football skills such as passing, catching, offense and defense in a safe and fun environment. Each week, new teams will be formed to give players a chance to socialize with everyone in the program.
About the Instructor(s):
Head coach, Michael Pirog, is a PE Teacher at St. Joseph School, and has a long tenure being a part of the BPRYCS department. Coach P played football at Central Connecticut State University, and has countless coaching experiences at various levels.
Andrew Beaucar has been part of the BPRYCS team for many years, serving in a variety of roles across camps, programs, and clinics. He is also a PE teacher in the Bristol Public Schools and coaches multiple sports at both the middle school and youth levels in the community. Andrew is excited to help coach another Flag Football season.
Program Benefits:
- Players will learn to line up correctly on both offense and defense.
- Players will understand the basic rules of football (first downs, scoring, offsides, pass interference, etc.).
- Players will learn to run several different pass patterns and use them in game situations.
