Bristol Residents Kevin Dragon and Carlos Rivera Join Parks Crew
 
Bristol, CT – [June 24, 2022] The City of Bristol Department of Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services is pleased to announce the selection of Bristol residents Kevin Dragon and Carlos Rivera to assume the role of Park Maintainer and Parks Heavy Truck Driver respectively.

Bristol Central Graduate Kevin Dragon comes to the city having previously worked as a Laborer with Blossom View Landscaping where he performed seasonal maintenance, mulching, edging, seeding and operated various power equipment. In his role Kevin supervised 4 other grounds crew members and helped delegate responsibilities while communicating with property owners to ensure their needs were met. As Park Maintainer, Kevin will be responsible for a variety of maintenance responsibilities across the City’s diverse 730 acre park system.

Bristol Central Graduate Carlos Rivera comes to the city having previously worked as a Crane Operator and Truck Driver for a variety of companies including Clark Dietrich, Patterson Enterprise, A.E.S. Redial Contracting and Forestville Lumber. Carlos has held a Class A CDL for the past 20 years. As Heavy Truck Driver, Carlos will be responsible for operating parks heavy equipment for plowing park roads as well as other seasonal park maintenance tasks.
 
Superintendent Medeiros stated, “We are very pleased to have Kevin and Carlos joining our Parks, Grounds and Facilities Maintenance Team. Both of these guys came to us with strong experience, passion for outdoor work, and positive attitudes. Additionally, both are residents of the city and users of our great public park system.”

Kevin Dragon assumes the role of Park Maintainer on Tuesday June 28, 2022 and Carlos Rivera begins his role as Heavy Truck Driver on Wednesday June 29, 2022 with starting rates of $23.40/hr and $25.01/hr respectively.
