Program Description:
Prenatal yoga is a form of gentle yoga that is designed to complement the growing needs of a pregnant body during all three trimesters. The focus is on restorative poses that keep you safe will practicing movement, stretching, deep breathing, and mental centering. We ask that you please bring your own mat.

About the Instructor:
Our Yoga instructor, Heather Tartarelli, has a 20 hour Full of Joy Children's Yoga Teaching Certificate, as well as a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate. Heather has also taken a 32 hour Trauma Informed Yoga for Youth Certification. Heather boasts over 750 hours of teaching yoga, and has completed the AFAA Practical Pilates course. Heather has been teaching the BPRCYS Yoga programs for over 6 years.

Program Benefits:
- Participants will be able to do 2 or more poses (asanas) independently with proper form/modifications. These poses will be appropriate for each trimester and support strength, flexibility and endurance needed for childbirth
- Participants will be able to do 2 or more breathing techniques (pranayama) independently to increase oxygen and blood flow to mother and baby, calm the nervous system, and prepare mom for breath-body connection needed during labor contractions
- Participants will experience decreased symptoms of pregnancy, such as decreased lower back pain, nausea, headaches, and shortness of breath, as well as improved sleep.
