GUSCO
Program Description:
Join BPRYCS in collaboration with Getup Stage Company for a fun summer theater experience culminating in a full performance at the brand new Rockwell Theater located inside of Bristol Arts & Innovation Magnet School. The core concepts of the Rockwell Summer Theater include Teamwork, Commitment, Confidence, Presence, Technique, and Responsibility.

This camp is separated into two age groups, Footlights and Spotlights.

Footlights (Grades 3-6): Teamwork, Commitment, and Responsibility are the primary focus of the Footlights program. Through large group numbers, small group numbers, and theatrical games, participants learn the basics of theater. By 6th grade, all participants should understand that theater is a collaborative art which requires dedication from everyone involved and that each person is responsible for his/her own part in order to improve the quality of the whole. The Footlights Camp production will be "Moana, Jr".

Spotlights (Grades 7-10): Confidence and Presence are the primary focus of the Spotlights program. Building upon Teamwork, Commitment and Responsibility, participants will expand their theater knowledge by putting on a full length musical. Through rehearsal and theater games, participants are taught to both physically and vocally inhabit their given character. By 10th grade, all participants should be able to fully engage in a performance, off book without dropping character. Responsibility includes maintaining one's script, attending the program daily and participating fully. The Spotlights Camp production will be "Rock of Ages".

Participants will be a part of the Rockwell Summer Theater Camp for the ENTIRE SUMMER! The Rockwell Summer Theater Camp meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the specified date range.

Buy tickets to the live performances here or at the door at Rockwell Theater in BAIMS.  Moana Jr. will be showing on Friday July 21st at 2PM and 7PM and Rock of Ages, Youth Edition, will be showing Friday, July 28th at 2PM and 7PM.
