Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services has partnered with the Main Street Community Foundation's Broad View Fund in order to bring free "Pop-Up" events to neighborhood parks in order to strengthen families and neighbors, engage underutilized spaces to enhance visibility and safety, and strengthen the sense of community for all residents - regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status. Join us this summer for a series of Pop Up parks guaranteed to make our parks your stay-cation destination!

Jump Into Summer
Page Park
Saturday, June 5
3:00 - 5:00 pm
Help us kick off the summer All Heart Pop-up Park series! We’ll be racing, hopping, running, and jumping for joy with friends, family, and neighbors on Saturday, June 5th. BPRYCS will set up inflatables, bounce houses, and an obstacle course at Page Park to celebrate the beginning of a sun filled summer in the park!

Adventure Animal Walk
Kern Park (Parking at Ivy Drive School)
Saturday, June 12

We’re putting a spotlight on local and native species with a fun and educational day at Kern Park. Join us as we highlight our furry neighbors, conservation efforts, eco-systems, and fun facts. Walk the trail and learn about the critters, big and small, nestled in our Bristol parks and in your backyards. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about and get up close and personal to animals traditionally observed from a distance.

Family Game Night
Mrs. Rockwell’s Pavilion
Sunday, June 27
4:00 – 6:30 pm
Turn the screens off and put down the electronics for a new twist on an old fashion evening of games at Mrs. Rockwell's Pavilion on Sunday, June 27. Compete against family, friends, and neighbors! We will have new games, classic games, and giant games ! There will be a wide range of games to serve varying age groups. 

Ice Cream Social
Federal Hill Green
Saturday, July 3
1:00 – 3:00 pm
Take a break from the summer heat and have fun with friends and neighbors while enjoying a refreshing treat! We’ll be serving sweet treats at Federal Hill Green. Participants will have their choice from a variety of classic Ice Cream Truck favorites ! Be sure to drop in, enjoy a cool ice cream treat and visit with BPRYCS staff while learning about program opportunities.

Bristol Beach Bash

Stocks Playground
11:00 AM - 3:00 PM 
Grab your swimsuit, get ready to stick your toes in the sand, and join us this summer as we turn Stocks Playground’s volleyball courts into a beach!

Tie-Dye Party
Friday, July 16
Cambridge Park
11:00 am - 1:00 pm
We’ll be at Cambridge Park on Friday, July 16 to create tie-dye masterpieces. BPRYCS will provide one item for participants to tie dye and use at the park, including picnic blankets, hats, and bags. BPRYCS staff will be around to assist with tie-dye projects. Participants may bring additional (clean) items to tie-dye.

Mini Golf
Friday, July 23
Casey Field
5:00 – 7:00 pm
Casey Field isn’t just for baseball anymore... on Friday, July 23 from 5 to 7 pm, we’ll be at Casey Field with a 9-hole mini-golf course! Putters, balls, and scorecards will be provided as you try for a hole in one!

Strut Your Mutt

Let’s Pawty! Help your dog become calmer and more comfortable around dogs and people, while having a great time together walking with the other dogs! Join us at Roberts Property Park (Located at James P Casey Rd/Perkins St) for a fun event featuring activities and attractions for your beloved canine and the family! You and your pup can take part in various dog contests, design a new bandanna, or try your hand at agility obstacles. Please note the following: Crabby canines may be asked to leave, female dogs will not be permitted if they are in heat, and BPRYCS is not responsible, or liable for the safety of you, or your pet. We appreciate your cooperation in making this a fun and safe event for all participants!

Field Day Olympics

The 2021(2020) Summer Olympics has finally arrived!  Make memories this summer by competing in Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Service’s first Field Day Olympics.  A variety of competitions will be held at this one-day event.  Participants can complete in their own Olympic journey by taking part in 4 different events: "Tug-War", "Hit the Zone", "Basketball Shootout", and "Birdie Tap Relay". Medals for those who complete all four events. Both adults and children can participate in events involving coordination, creativity, and fun!

Chalk Challenge

We’re hitting the pavement with sidewalk chalk, paint, stencils, fun messages, games, and more! We’ll provide all of the materials needed to create colorful sidewalk displays, unique games, positive messages, and forced perspective designs.

Back to School Block Party
Brackett Park

Embrace the Bristol community at the Back to School Block Party on Saturday, August 21.  Enjoy carnival games, arts and crafts, face painting, music, family-friendly activities and more!  Bring your friends, neighbors, and chairs to Brackett Park for a nice day out.

Kite Building & Flying
Nelson’s Field
Saturday, September 4

We’ll be catching the breeze at Nelson’s Field on Saturday, September 4! Join us as we assemble our own kites to fill the sky will colorful creations. Kite assembly expresses creativity in a constructive manner. Kite building is for kids of all ages and we have different kits for different age groups and different abilities. Kiters are welcome to bring their own kite as well. BPRYCS staff will also will be flying some fun kites for all to enjoy.

Family Camp Out
Muzzy Field
Saturday, September 18
(Registration Deadline is Wednesday, September 15th at 12:00 pm) 
Starts at 6:00 pm
Enjoy a night sleeping under the stars at Muzzy Field. We will provide a host of activities including lawn games, family activities, and a PG rated movie when it’s dark! BPRYCS staff will help you set up your tent, provide the snacks and a breakfast treat, and lead a night time program. Bring your blankets, pajamas, flashlights and lanterns and get ready for a great time in the outdoors with family and friends. Space is limited, register early! Each household/registrant will have an assigned space. We invite all Bristol community members to join us as we say goodbye to summer with the final All-Heart Pop-Up Park event!
