Peer Education

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Peer Education is a leadership program that gives high school students the opportunity to use their talents to help their fellow classmates in need and connect them to supportive adults. There are 2 components of Peer Education: Rising Stars and Youth Court.

Rising Star members are trained to provide accurate information to their peers on teenage issues, provide an outlet for their fellow peers to gain advice, and refer students in need to appropriate service providers when necessary. Students are more apt to express themselves or take advice from someone their own age versus an adult and often resist making connections when faced with stressors.

Youth Court members form their own Youth Court within their high school. Members will hold roles such as Judge, Court Clerk, Advocate, or Jury Member and will follow a restorative justice approach to the court process. They will manage issues and cases as deemed appropriate by each high school and empower those that come before them.

Come join us and use your leadership skills to make a positive change in your school!
